Grades 7-12, Cantare Bel Canto I

Cantare Bel Canto I

Ages:

~13 to 18 years old (7th through 12th Grade)

Director:

Jenna Lebherz Daly

Description:

Designed to provide increasingly advanced choral challenges and more individual solo opportunities to drive the potential and developmental needs of middle school and high school choristers, the “Beautiful Song” Bel Canto chorus balances music appreciation with artistic expression. Its repertoire includes unison through four-part harmony, multiple languages, accompanied and a cappella. As a reward for their hard work and dedication, Bel Cantos normally perform locally in a variety of venues, competitions, and concerts that may include travel opportunities both in the USA and abroad.

  • Auditions: An audition is required.
  • Chorus Size: 20-40.
  • Performances: This group normally participates in winter and spring concerts and other various musical events, some optional, others required.
  • A choral adjudication trip normally takes place in the spring. Previous locations for this have included New York City, Philadelphia, and Hershey Park.
  • At the completion of each year, members of Bel Canto I are encouraged and welcomed to audition for our most advanced choral group (think “varsity chorus”), Cantare Bel Canto II.

When/Where:

Cantare Bel Canto I will rehearse every Tuesday night during the school year from 7:00-8:30 pm. Rehearsals will take place in the Theatre on the main level of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Approximately 30 classes. 2 additional Sunday rehearsals during the year may also be required.

Tuition:

Tuition is $545 for the entire season.

Our choir rehearsals are centered around group voice and music theory lessons that are taught by top notch music educators. After fees and tuition, each lesson is about $19 since we meet approximately 36+ times throughout the school year.
